About

Tom Haniff is a composer and producer based in London UK,  focusing on soundtracks for visual media.

Tom's repertoire covers multiple styles from experimental soundscapes to minimalism, traditional orchestral music, electronic music, and action scores. What unites this music is a strong focus on the emotional identity of each project, with the aim of heightening audiences' immersion and communicating the true spirit of each project.

Tom studied Music and Composition at the University of Bristol. He also holds a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge specialising in Music Psychology, conducting experiments on the way audiences' emotional reactions are mediated by the presence of film, music, and narrative context.

Aside from composing work, Tom is a piano, keyboard and trumpet player. He has played with bands at venues including the O2 Islington main stage, and particularly enjoyed playing trumpet for big band jazz charts during his formative years. Tom has also sung a wide range of choral works with the Bristol University Singers and the chapel choir of Robinson College Cambridge, appearing on the former's commercial CD recording Gratia Plena.
